Job Description

The Senior Media Planner/Buyer will develop and implement omnichannel media strategies while making decisions based on the analysis and interpretation of data. Must have experience purchasing paid media on behalf of a government entity and experience executing recruitment campaigns.
Salary range: $85-90k/annually

  • The Senior Media Planner/Buyer position does not supervise other employees

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research client’s needs and provide insight into paid advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Responsible for media planning, negotiation, and buying for all clients, as directed.
  • Determine the best strategic media mix given the nature of the target audience, client’s business objectives, KPIs, budget, creative imperatives, and preferred advertising media.
  • Monitor the performance of all media placements in flight and make suggestions on optimization as needed.
  • Work closely with the marketing strategist to assess media results and report on key metrics.
  • Stay up to date with the current media landscape and latest media trends by engaging in self-guided research and scheduling vendor meetings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with our clients and with advertising and media vendors.
  • Prepare visual presentations on media recommendations to internal and external clients on an as-needed basis.
  • Collaborate with team leads to create the best solution to meet the client’s goals on time and on budget.
  • Support the media team as needed or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of all existing media, including TV, radio, streaming services, digital, programmatic buying, social platforms, and emerging media options.
  • Ability to use a variety of advertising analytics tools, databases, and spreadsheet programs to track and manage advertising campaigns.
  • Negotiation skills: value-added, total cost, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.
  • Work well in a team environment but thrive independently.
  • Effective at working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, market research, communication studies, marketing, or relevant field plus 10 years of experience in advertising, marketing, or related industry.
  • Experience as a government contractor is a plus.
  • Professional certification is a plus such as Meta, Google, etc.
