For more than two years, MarCom Group strived to exceed the traditional cybersecurity standards for small businesses. In June, our commitment to IT security, transparency, and data security resulted in the ISO 27001 certification.
“This certification is more than a plaque on the wall. It’s a signal to our clients, our industry, and ourselves that we’re on the forefront of cyber and data security,” said Lauren Rainford, MarCom Group President. “As the marketing and advertising agency for high-level federal and commercial clients, the security of their data, as well as ours, is paramount. That’s why achieving the ISO 27001 is such an achievement for our organization,” continued Lauren.
The ISO 27001 is awarded by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an association that traces its roots back to 1946. ISO brings together leading experts from around the world to standardize the way products are made and processes are managed. The ISO 27001 is the world’s best-known standard for information security management systems (ISMS), and in their own words, “provides companies of any size with guidance for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system.”
“The ISO 27001 certification process involved careful planning, rigorous documentation, and detailed risk analysis. We examined every aspect of our systems and workflows, asking ourselves not just, ‘Is this working?’ but ‘Is this secure, sustainable, and resilient under pressure?’” said Olivia Bird, Digital Services & Solutions Director.
Much more than just a technical achievement, earning the ISO 27001 took the concerted effort of every single employee at MarCom Group. It’s a milestone that we’re extremely proud of, but it’s certainly not the end of our cybersecurity efforts.
As having a strong cyber and data security posture becomes more important for small businesses every year, MarCom Group will continue to be on the leading edge, ensuring the safety of our data as well as our clients’.
