MarCom Group is pleased to announce it has received both Platinum and Silver awards from one of the longest-standing independent award organizations, Summit International. The Summit International Awards (SIA) recognize outstanding creative work from around the globe in the marketing and communication industries. MarCom Group received the marketing and website awards in conjunction with their work supporting Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS).

“These prestigious awards are a confirmation of the excellent work our team engages in for AFCS, the Armed Forces, and our country as a whole. It’s extremely gratifying to know that the new civilian Air Force employees MarCom Group helped recruit will be supporting the Space Force and Air Force missions and, in this particular case, teaching the next generation of Airmen to fly,” said MarCom Group President Lauren Rainford.

Platinum SIA: Government Marketing

“If you’ve landed one of these, landing a job as a Simulator Pilot Instructor should be a cinch!” reads the caption for one of MarCom Group’s award-winning advertisements for AFCS, accompanied by an action shot of a large commercial aircraft touching down on a runway. This is a sample of the award-winning creative work MarCom Group delivered for AFCS that earned a Platinum SIA.

The multifaceted campaign set out to recruit Simulator Instructor Pilots, a mission-critical job in the Air Force. The strategy included promotion across social media, personalized emails, and targeted online ads, as well as webinars and even podcasts. The results spoke for themselves as AFCS received more than 91 qualified applications to fill their 25 vacancies.

Silver SIA: Government Website

MarCom Group is also honored to have received a Silver SIA associated with its work on the AFCS recruiting website, afciviliancareers.com. MarCom Group built the first version of the site in 2012 and has been continually updating and maintaining it since. The site serves as a focal point of the AFCS brand and relies on a human-centric approach to both design and functionality. Housing it on a “.com” was critical to the strategy, as it reinforced the fact that AFCS is a civilian organization that gives people a way to serve their country without being in the uniformed service.

Another important feature of the site is the Recruitment Opportunity Activity (ROA). The custom-built application serves as the top of the recruitment marketing funnel and is seamlessly built into the page, offering a subscription service for job seekers by capturing their interest in occupations that AFCS recruits for, as well as locations, attributes, universities attended, and more.
